Pride and Prejudice

So on Valentines day I rented the DVD Becoming Jane. It was a lovely movie about Jane Austen and I just love Anne Hathaway. Although I think it was a kind of sad ending, I still really enjoyed the story and watched is several times(especially the dance scene. Why dont we dance like that nowadays? It is so romantic!) Anyways, now this has sent me into a kick of all things Jane Austen. I couldn't find my copy of Pride and Prejudice so I went to the used bookstore and bought 2 more copies(so I would never be caught without one again). I then preceeded to read it twice through and to re-read the good parts a third time. Then I watched Pride and Prejudice(the Colin Firth version) twice through. Yes, all 6 hours of it. Which put me in the mood to read the book again and then of course, last weekend(while Dan was camping with the scouts) I watched the whole thing again. I'm not as fond of the new Keira Knightly Pride and Prejudice(It's just too rushed, I need 6 hours of Mr Darcy and Elizabeth). But I would have probably watched that too if I could have got my hands on a copy. So I am about to finish the book again for the third time(can you believe I am still not sick of it?!) and would probably read it again but I must restrain myself. I don't think an obsession is very healthy, plus I really have lots of other work that needs to be done. But I still plan to read. I just got Emma, and Persuasion which I have seen the movies but surprisingly never actually read. I am also going to get a couple of the Pride and Prejudice spin offs that explore Mr Darcy's perspective. And away I go to lose my self in the world of Jane Austen.

Have you seen the Bollywood version of Pride and Prejudice called "Bride and Prejudice"? It's a lot of fun. They have it at the library I think. My favorite is still Sense and Sensibility. I laugh all through that movie.

Also, have you tried watching the Importance of Being Earnest. It's a lot of fun too and Colin Firth is in it!

I love Jane Austen, too. Matt doesn't, so I watch the movies while I am folding laundry.

oh my goodness, you are awesome! I love your little addiction to Jane Austen, because I have one of those too. I am so impressed that you read the novel that many times through in such a short period of time....I think it's so cool. I just love this blog altogether....it makes me happy because I understand and agree with everything you said! And the importance of being earnest is hilarious too!
