17 1/2 Week Update

Ok so sorry I haven't updated in awhile. We just got the internet again. I'm 17 & 1/2 weeks, getting pretty close to halfway. So we have an appointment on August 4th to find out the gender. I gotta know! No belly pics yet since I'm not showing yet. Sorry but there is no belly to photograph! I know, everyone at work keeps checkin' out my belly hoping to see some signs, soon I'm sure. We took a picture at church of all the pregnant gals and I was on the end trying to push it out a bit, everyone else is showing very nicely.
I'm feeling great though. I started running again with my visiting teaching companion Jordan. She is awesome. I did the Butte to Butte on the 4th, but it wasn't very fun; too hot and I wasn't really prepared. But thats ok, I finished at least. Tuesday we ran 5 miles and it felt great, it's good to be running again. It took way too long for my knee to heal. Also have been biking the 8 miles to & from work everyday. All the exercise really helps beat the yucky bloated pregnant feeling.
I didn't get to see Dr Haugen at my lst appointment since he has an emergency delivery. I saw Dr Tufariello, she is really nice. I'm almost thinking of switching to her instead. Not that there is anything wrong with Dr Haugen except that he is a guy & Dan would prefer that I went to a gal. I just felt more of a connection with her.
I had an ultrasound a couple weeks ago and it was pretty cool. Not a blob anymore. It has arms & legs & was so wiggly. It's alive!!! Hopefully I'll be able to feel the wiggles soon. I'll post the ultrasound pictures shortly.

During my first pregnancy, it took awhile for my belly to grow. But, after that it was huge within weeks of conception. So enjoy it!

It was nice seeing you and Jordan running this morning. ☺

I admire your running dedication. :)

And if you feel more comfortable with one doctor over another, I'd make the switch. Any good doctor would want you to be comfortable with your care and wouldn't be offended if you wanted to switch, imo.

Thank you for finally updating. I am glad to hear you are doing well. You will show soon. I started to around this time frame. I can't wait to see the pics of the baby.

have you talked to your doctor about all the running with the baby? just checking, I wasn't allowed to run when i was pregnant with anthony, of course there were a few worry issues at first, but just checking. I didn't show with Tony till about 20 weeks, but then I ballooned.

How exciting. Way to go with the running. I ran the Butte to Butte too, I'm sad I didn't see you. I forgot how much you love running....you ran w/the cross country team every year in high school right? Groovy! Oooooh, I bet you're so anxious to find out the gender....then you can really start shopping! Or at least looking for great deals : )

I have Dr. tufarello (sp) I love her. I think she is a great dr. I agree with the others though the dr. is your choice and you should find one that you feel the most comfortable with. I hope you get what you really want when it comes to the baby. Can't wait to see pictures.--LaDawn
